Wanted suspect, Luthando Bafani (35) was arrested by police this morning, 23 July 2023, after establishing that he was hospitalised with gunshot wounds.

Investigations revealed that he was allegedly shot multiple times by two unknown men while driving in Daku Street in Kwazakele, last night. No case has yet been opened.

Police received information that he was taken to hospital, and he was arrested by members of the Provincial Organised Crime Investigation and SAPS New Brighton.

Bafani is alleged to have been involved in the fatal shooting of Bagcine Sith (23) and Andile Williams (29) during the early hours of 19 July 2022 in New Brighton. At approximately 02:15 on the abovementioned date, the victims were shot and killed at a house in Mhambehlala Street, New Brighton.

A warrant for his arrest was issued.

He is expected to appear in the New Brighton magistrate soon on double murder charges.
