Viim Solidarity Association Launches Activities to Promote Local Dishes

Namentenga/culture: The president of the special delegation (PDS) of the commune of Boulsa, Issaka Sangla, officially launched the activities of the Viim Solidarity Association (AVS). The event marked the closing of the first edition of the AVS cooking holiday camp, featuring a tasting of local dishes, certificate presentations to campers, and a visit to the food products stand.

According to Burkina Information Agency, AVS President Esil Awa Beloum/Belem stated that the cooking holiday camp aims to pass on culinary knowledge from grandmothers to children. The camp, which focuses on local dishes, hosted 21 children and internally displaced persons (IDPs) aged 10 to 17, including 6 boys.

The sponsor of the ceremony, the provincial director of Communication, Arts and Tourism, Touwendinda Francis SakandE, noted that the camp embodied the theme of the National Culture Week (SNC) Bobo 202: "Culture, youth and transmission of social values."

AVS President Esil Awa Beloum/Belem emphasized that the association's goals are to promote peace, support vulnerable people, and develop income-generating activities for women and young people. Ms. Beloum expressed the wish for collective support to achieve the organization's objectives.
