Vihiga: Vihiga Deputy Governor, Wilberforce Kitiezo, on Saturday, commissioned the Kayila community water project in Luanda South ward to mark World Water Day. Mr Kitiezo stated that the project would serve over 100 households in the Ekwanda area, aligning with the county government’s initiative to increase water connectivity.

According to Kenya News Agency, the deputy governor mentioned plans to expand the project to provide more residents with access to clean and safe water. He noted that the project is part of the Financing Locally Led Climate Action (FLLoCA) programme, which is funded by the national Climate Fund. This fund disburses monies to counties to help build resilience for communities facing the effects of climate change.

The deputy county head further emphasized the goal of ensuring that all households are onboarded with ongoing last-mile connectivity within the next two years.
