Members of SAPS Daveyton arrested a suspect on Saturday, 12 August 2023 on charges that include possession of unlicensed firearm, ammunition and possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

The members were reportedly out on a crime prevention patrol when they detected a vehicle with one occupant parked on the side of the road.

A search led the members to recover an unlicensed firearm and ammunition found in possession of the suspect. Further investigation also confirmed that the suspect’s vehicle is positively linked to a theft of motor vehicle case; the suspect was subsequently arrested.
