Manila: Vietnam’s tra fish export could achieve the target of 2 billion U.S. dollars in 2024, driven by improvements in the industry. As reported by Vietnam News Agency, experts noted that as of October, Vietnam has exported tra fish worth 1.56 billion dollars, marking a year-on-year increase of 8.9 percent, according to the Directorate of Fisheries under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
According to Namibia Press Agency, To Thi Tuong Lan, deputy general secretary of the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers, highlighted the limited supply of raw materials which may extend to the first quarter of 2025. This situation could provide an opportunity for businesses to enhance export prices during the peak season at the end of the year.
The industry is witnessing robust signs such as reduced inventory in key markets, the recovery of the U.S. economy, and growth prospects in both traditional and smaller markets, To added. Vietnam, a Southeast Asian nation, has allocated about 5,3
70 hectares for tra fish farming in 2024, anticipating a harvest of 1.67 million tons.
The country aims to produce approximately 1.65 million tons of tra fish and generate 2 billion dollars in export revenue in the forthcoming year.
