Vietnam Reports 16.46 Billion USD Trade Surplus in Agro-Forestry-Fishery Sector.

HANOI: Vietnam posted a trade surplus of 16.46 billion U.S. dollars in the agro-forestry-fishery sector in the first 11 months of this year, surging 52.8 percent year on year, Vietnam News Agency reported on Wednesday, citing the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the sector earned 5.3 billion dollars from exports during the cited period, marking a 13.9 percent increase compared to the same period last year. Among the different product categories, forestry products led the way with the highest trade surplus of 13.05 billion dollars, which is an 18.7 percent increase year on year. This was followed by fishery products, which recorded a surplus of 6.88 billion dollars, up 17.5 percent, and agricultural products, which saw a surplus of 4.72 billion dollars, up 3.1 times.

Vietnam successfully achieved over 1 billion dollars of trade surplus in seven agro-forestry-fishery products within 11 months. Notable products included wood and timber products with 12.11 billio
n dollars, vegetables with 4.56 billion dollars, coffee with 4.53 billion dollars, and rice with 4.07 billion dollars.

Asia stood as the largest importer of Vietnamese agro-forestry-aquatic products from January to September, highlighting the significant demand from this region.
