Tenkodogo: The Association of Assistant Security Volunteers (VADS) of the Centre-East region concluded their inaugural 96-hour event in Tenkodogo with a significant gesture, donating five bags of cement to the Faso Mªbo initiative.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event, organized by the Amicale des VADS du Burkina, aimed to foster unity among young volunteers, encourage civic involvement, and support efforts towards national sovereignty. The closing ceremony took place at the Youth Listening Center in sector 06, marking the end of an eventful four days for the 158 VADS from six municipalities in the region.
Throughout the event, participants engaged in educational and civic activities, including a presentation on “United youth for a strong and sovereign nation” and a two-day practical training session on poultry farming. These activities were designed to equip the volunteers with valuable skills to influence positive change in their communities.
Regional Director of Youth and Employment for the Centre-East, Sibiri F©lix Zoungrana, commended the dedication of the VADS, expressing his belief that the skills acquired during the event would enable the volunteers to be instrumental in transforming their communities and fostering behavioral change.
Ten© Alfred Diessongo, the regional delegate of the VADS, emphasized that the event aligned with the Amicale’s goals of mobilizing efforts to build a stable and sovereign Burkina. He conveyed the participants’ satisfaction and gratitude towards the regional authorities for their support.
The donation of cement was warmly received by the representative of the Faso presidency in the Centre-East region and other authorities present, highlighting the VADS’ commitment to contributing to national development initiatives.
