Tashkent: Uzbekistan plans to accelerate efforts to tap its estimated 10 billion U.S. dollars of artificial intelligence (AI) potential, the presidential press service said Tuesday. A video conference was held under the chairmanship of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to discuss ways to accelerate the introduction of AI technologies into public administration, various economic sectors, and regional development.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Uzbekistan’s potential in the field of AI is estimated at around 10 billion dollars by foreign experts. To transform this potential into real opportunities and secure a competitive position amid the growing global demand for AI, special attention must be paid to three key areas: infrastructure, open data, and human resource development, the statement highlighted.
The strategic focus on these areas aims to build a robust foundation for integrating AI technologies across different sectors in Uzbekistan. The government recognizes the importance of establishing a comp
rehensive infrastructure that supports AI development and implementation. In addition, fostering an environment of open data will facilitate innovation and collaboration among various stakeholders.
Human resource development remains a critical component in meeting the demands of the AI industry. The country plans to invest in education and training programs to equip its workforce with the necessary skills to drive AI advancements. By focusing on these key areas, Uzbekistan aims to position itself as a competitive player in the global AI landscape, leveraging its potential to drive economic growth and regional development.
