USAID Launches $35 Million Health and Nutrition Project in Ethiopia’s Pastoralist Regions


ADDIS ABABA — The US Agency for International Development (USAID) today announced a new $35 million initiative to improve health and nutrition for mothers and children in Ethiopia’s pastoral regions.



According to Ethiopian News Agency, the initiative, named the Lowlands Health Activity, will be implemented across 35 districts in the Somali, Afar, Southern Ethiopia, and Oromia regions by Engender Health Inc., in collaboration with various international and local partners. The project aims to enhance primary healthcare and foster the adoption of healthy behaviors. It will support facilities that offer essential services in reproductive health, maternal care, child and adolescent health, and nutrition.
