Moscow: US Vice President JD Vance expressed his condolences on Monday over the death of Pope Francis. Earlier in the day, the Holy See announced that Pope Francis passed away on Easter Monday at the age of 88 at his residence in the Vatican’s Casa Santa Marta. Cardinal Kevin Joseph Farrell, Prefect of the Dicastery for the Laity, the Family and Life, reported that Pope Francis died at 5:35 GMT.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Vice President Vance shared his sentiments on X, stating, “I just learned of the passing of Pope Francis. My heart goes out to the millions of Christians all over the world who loved him. I was happy to see him yesterday, though he was obviously very ill. But I will always remember him for the below homily he gave in the very early days of COVID. It was really quite beautiful. May God rest his soul.”
