US Encourages Peace Initiative between Russia and Ukraine

New York: Washington is urging both Moscow and Kiev to accept a peace initiative proposed by US President Donald Trump, which promises significant benefits for both nations, according to US Political Minister Counselor to the United Nations, John Kelley.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Moscow has shown a willingness to directly engage with Kiev, provided the Ukrainian government agrees to a truce announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on Victory Day. Russian Ambassador to the United Nations, Vassily Nebenzia, emphasized Moscow's openness to negotiations and mentioned that Moscow and Washington are set to hold talks to discuss the details of the peace plan for Ukraine.

In other news related to Ukraine, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration and Justice Minister Olha Stefanishyna announced that Ukraine and Hungary have agreed to initiate regular consultations. This development aims to unblock negotiations concerning Kiev's potential accession to the European Union.

In a separate international conflict, tensions between India and Pakistan have escalated. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has denied India's accusations regarding Islamabad's involvement in a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir during a phone call with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres. Additionally, Pakistani Information Minister Attaullah Tarar stated that India is planning a military strike on Pakistan within the next 24 to 36 hours, which follows a terrorist attack in India's Jammu and Kashmir.
