US-Based Burkinabe Innovates Public Administration with New Technology

Ouagadougou: A compatriot living in the United States, Wendemi Jules Kader Kabor©, unveiled a groundbreaking technology on Tuesday, named "Kas©t Toumd©," designed to monitor the attendance of public officials in Burkina Faso. The innovative system aims to transform the administration by tracking the entry and exit of workers, thereby enhancing governance and service delivery.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the presentation took place at the passport service in Ouagadougou, attended by the Minister of Security, Mahamoudou Sana. He highlighted the significance of this technology, which was introduced to his department in March by Kabor© and his team. Since March 17, the system has been in a pilot phase, demonstrating the commitment of all parties involved.

Minister Sana emphasized that the third pillar of the government's stabilization and development plan is focused on improving governance. The "Kas©t Toumd©" system will provide detailed insights into the working hours of public sector employees, facilitating better management and accountability.

Moreover, the technology will collect feedback from users of government services, a feature that Minister Sana considers crucial for assessing service quality and identifying any misconduct by public officials. This feedback mechanism will enable decision-makers to take corrective actions, whether through commendations or sanctions, ensuring efficient service delivery.

The leave management feature of the system will also help track employee presence, contributing to a more organized and accountable public administration. Minister Sana reiterated that the tool aligns with the government's vision of enhancing service provision in the public sector.

Wendemi Jules Kader Kabor©, the creator of the technology, elaborated on the system's three primary functions: attendance monitoring, leave management, and feedback collection. He stressed the importance of collaborative efforts in improving service quality for Burkina Faso's development.

Kabor© noted that the establishment of "Kas©t Toumd©" is a collaborative endeavor with the authorities, aimed at addressing the issues of absenteeism and behavioral concerns among public officials. The system is currently being tested at the central police station and the passport service in Ouagadougou.
