According to Namibia Press Agency, the decision to turn around was made as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of all passengers on board. The flight had departed earlier in the day but was forced to return shortly after takeoff due to the issue.

The White House reported that the President and his team were not in any immediate danger, and arrangements were made for an alternate flight plan.
