BLOEMFONTEIN – The Bloemfontein police have initiated an urgent search for Lesego Mamello Motaung, a 22-year-old woman reported missing since 30 October 2023. The case, which has been classified as a kidnapping, was opened following a report by her aunt at the Parkweg Police Station.

According to South African Police Service, Lesego left her home in Uitsig on her way to her job at a Food Chain Restaurant in Zastron Street, Wesdene. Concerns escalated when one of Lesego’s colleagues reported that she had complained of not feeling well. Authorities and the community are actively seeking information regarding her whereabouts. The police have issued a plea for assistance from the public, urging anyone with information to contact Captain Yaliwe Mokoena at 082 526 2653 or Crime Stop at 08600 10111. Information can also be submitted via the MySAPS App. This case has highlighted the ongoing concerns regarding the safety of young women in the region and the importance of community vigilance.
