Urgent: Chinese Premier Calls for Accelerated RCEP Expansion

Beijing: Chinese Premier Li Qiang on Monday called for accelerating the expansion process of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and supporting applicants such as Hong Kong, China, in joining the free trade treaty. Li made the remarks while attending the fifth RCEP Leaders' Meeting.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Premier Li emphasized the importance of quickly advancing the expansion efforts of the RCEP, which is one of the largest free trade agreements in the world. The inclusion of new members like Hong Kong aims to enhance economic ties and cooperation among the participating nations. The RCEP currently includes 15 Asia-Pacific countries, and the expansion is seen as a strategic move to strengthen economic integration in the region.
