Ouagadougou: Lieutenant Adama Sessouma, a candidate for the presidency of the National Union of Stallions Supporters (UNSE), announced his candidacy at a press conference in Ouagadougou. His primary focus is to create a unified and robust support system for Burkina Faso's national teams, as noted by AIB.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Lieutenant Sessouma, who serves in the military engineering corps, addressed journalists alongside honorary president Ablasse Yameogo, current president Ousseni Tougma, and various regional office presidents of the UNSE. He emphasized his ambition to "restore to this structure its letters of nobility" and outlined a vision to bring together, modernize, and promote Burkinabe supporters on both national and international stages.
Sessouma asserted that supporting the national teams involves more than just cheering from the stands; it requires embodying a moral, organized, and patriotic force behind the Stallions. If elected for a four-year term in September, he plans to establish a strong, respected UNSE that serves both the Etalons and the nation. His goals include strengthening institutional and human capacities of regional sections, ensuring transparency and accountability at all levels, and developing sustainable financial partnerships.
His campaign program focuses on four main areas: good governance, restructuring, strengthening regional sections, and mobilizing financial resources. Sessouma, a passionate sports advocate, currently presides over the supporters of the Armed Forces Sports Union (USFA) and aims to bring his experience and vision to the UNSE presidency.
