Universal Health Insurance Registration Officially Launched in Dori by Governor

Dori: The Governor of the Sahel region, Abdoul Karim Zongo, has officially launched the operation to register individuals for the Universal Health Insurance Scheme (RAMU) in Dori. This initiative, spearheaded by the National Universal Health Insurance Fund (CNAMU), aims to provide social protection against health-related risks.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the launch event saw the enrollment of the governor and the governorate staff, marking the commencement of the registration campaign. The Sahel Regional Director of Labor and Social Protection, Nicaise Badolo, explained that health insurance is a legal measure designed to protect subscribers from risks associated with illness or maternity.



He further highlighted that the goal of health insurance is to foster societal development and enhance business productivity. The insurance covers the insured individual, their minor children, and their unpaid spouse. In his address, Governor Abdoul Karim Zongo encouraged all workers in the region to enroll in RAMU to secure health coverage.
