Buenos aires: Union and River Plate have emerged as the leaders in their respective groups in the Argentine Primera Division's Clausura tournament following the completion of Sunday's matches. Both teams have shown strong performances over the course of eight games, positioning themselves at the top of their groups.

Barracas Central shares the top spot with Union, also boasting 15 points but with a slightly inferior goal difference, having scored 11 and conceded eight. Boca Juniors and Central Cordoba are close behind, both with 13 points, followed by Banfield, also with 13 points but with a less favorable goal difference.

In Group B, River Plate stands out with an impressive 18 points, remaining undefeated with five wins and three draws. They have been formidable in attack, scoring 16 goals and conceding only five. Deportivo Riestra follows with 16 points, having won five games, drawn one, and lost two. Velez holds third place with 15 points, while Lanus and San Lorenzo round out the top five, with 13 and 12 points, respectively.
