Uganda Seeks $150 Million Loan from China for Internet Infrastructure

Uganda – The Ugandan government has announced its plans to procure a $150 million loan from the Export-Import Bank of China (Exim) to bolster the nation’s Internet infrastructure. This development, publicized via a tweet from the Ugandan Ministry of Finance on November 27, aims to enhance the national data transmission infrastructure through the supply, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of the necessary equipment.

According to Africa News Agency, the loan proposal is expected to be presented to the Ugandan Parliament soon for approval, signifying a significant step in improving connectivity across Uganda.
