UACO 2025: Official Installation of Scientific Committee Members for 14th Edition


Ouagadougou: The Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism, Pingdwend© Gilbert OUEDRAOGO, chaired the installation ceremony of the members of the Scientific Committee of the 14th edition of the African Universities of Communication of Ouagadougou (UACO) on Tuesday, June 3, 2025.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the UACO 2025 Scientific Committee consists of around ten members, including teacher-researchers and experienced professionals in the fields of information and communication. This committee is tasked with designing and implementing the scientific content for the event. It holds the significant responsibility of defining the general theme and sub-themes that will form the basis of discussions during this prominent event in the communication and information sector.



Minister Pingdwend© Gilbert OUEDRAOGO highlighted the crucial role of communication in mobilizing populations, especially in the unique context of the UACO. He remarked on the vision of creating a common space, the Alliance of Sahel States (AES), which emerged from the political will of the heads of state of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger. This new situation demands integration into decision-making processes to foster the integration of populations, achievable only through effective communication, as stated by Minister Pingdwend©.



The Minister expressed gratitude towards the Scientific Committee members for their commitment to supporting the Ministry in this significant event. He urged them to ensure the discussions during the conference leave a lasting impact on communications, captivating both Africa and the world, with positive outcomes that will significantly influence the communications sector and Burkina Faso at large.



The African Universities of Communication in Ouagadougou are scheduled to take place from October 2 to 4, 2025.
