Washington: The U.S. administration has pressed its trading partners via letters to submit their best offers by Wednesday, the White House confirmed Tuesday. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that the letters sent from the United States Trade Representative served as a “friendly reminder” of the impending deadline.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the Trump administration officials are actively engaging in discussions with trade partners to finalize deals within the 90-day negotiation period. This period, which began on April 9 and will end on July 8, was established following market volatility that led to a temporary suspension of the “Liberation Day” tariffs initiated on April 2.
Local media disclosed that the correspondence urged trade partners to detail their most favorable proposals in several critical areas. These include tariff and quota offers related to the purchase of U.S. industrial and agricultural products and strategies to address any non-tariff barriers. The White House, however, has not specified which economies were recipients of these letters.
