SAADA: A U.S.-led military coalition launched three airstrikes on Yemen’s northern province of Saada on Sunday morning, targeting a Houthi military site, according to reports from the Houthi-run al-Masirah TV. The airstrikes have intensified concerns over escalating regional tensions.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the strikes aimed at degrading the capabilities of the Houthi group, which has been actively involved in the ongoing conflict in the region. Residents shared on social media that the airstrikes specifically targeted military installations of the Houthi group within the city of Saada. The U.S. military has not yet commented on these specific airstrikes.
The U.S. Central Command had previously stated in a press release on Tuesday that American forces conducted multiple precision strikes against Houthi positions in Yemen’s capital. This action was reportedly part of an effort to curb the group’s attempts to threaten regional allies. The Houthi group, which maintains control over significant portions of northern Yemen, has been accused of launching persistent rocket and drone attacks against Israel. These activities are claimed to be in support of Palestinians and have also included disruptions to “Israeli-linked” shipping in the Red Sea since November 2023.
The ongoing conflict in Yemen, marked by the Houthi’s actions and the coalition’s military responses, continues to draw international attention and concern over its implications for broader Middle Eastern stability.
