Tunisia qualified for the semi-finals of the U-20 AFCON, after defeating Congo 5-4 on penalties (2-2 at the end of regulation time, 3-3 after extra time) in a match played on Friday in Cairo, qualifying at the same time for the World Cup-2023.
The other quarter-finals saw Senegal beat Benin (1-0), Nigeria beat Uganda (1-0) and Gambia qualify at the expense of South Sudan (5-0).
In the semi-finals, Tunisia will take on Senegal, while Nigeria will play Gambia.
The four semi-finalists have at the same time ensured their qualification for the finals of the World Cup scheduled from May 20 to June 11 in Indonesia.
