POLOKWANE – The Tzaneen Police are urgently searching for an unidentified male suspect following two separate incidents of rape that occurred in the early hours of Saturday, November 25, 2023, at GaThako village, outside Tzaneen in the Mopani District.
According to South African Police Service, the police report indicates that around 03:10 on Saturday, two women, aged 18 and 27, fell victim to an intruder who raped them at knifepoint in their bedroom. After the assault, the suspect fled the scene on foot, leaving the victims traumatized.
The Tzaneen Family Violence, Child Protection, and Sexual Offences Unit are actively investigating these two cases of rape. The police are calling on anyone with information that could lead to the apprehension of the suspect to come forward.
