Typhoon Man-Yi Causes Chaos in South China’s Guangdong Province.

Guangdong: Typhoon Man-yi is making its presence felt as it approaches south China's Guangdong Province, bringing with it tidal waves that have led to significant waterlogging in multiple cities and towns. The impending storm has also prompted the suspension of ferry services, impacting many residents' daily commutes and travel plans. According to Namibia Press Agency, all ferry services across the Qiongzhou Strait will be halted starting Tuesday evening as a precautionary measure. Guangdong's marine safety administration has confirmed that several ferry routes across the strait and other areas have already been suspended as of Tuesday. The typhoon, combined with a prevailing cold spell, has triggered a storm surge along Guangdong's coast, exacerbating the situation. On Monday evening, streets in Shenzhen were notably inundated by seawater. Local authorities reported that the seawater intrusion lasted approximately one to two hours but fortunately did not result in any significant damage. Similar incidents of waterlogging were recorded in the city of Shanwei, again without any casualties. Authorities are on high alert, predicting further seawater intrusion in the coming days. As a precaution, they have advised residents to minimize outdoor activities to ensure their safety during this turbulent period.
