Two Villages in Zondoma Selected for Rainy Season Support

Seguenega: The Burkina Faso Red Cross (CRBF), in partnership with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), has identified the villages of Boussou and Tamounouma for support during the upcoming rainy season.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the selection was made during a meeting chaired by Alassane Demsili, the president of the special delegation, on May 30, 2026, at the town hall of Boussou. The meeting included project managers, agents of decentralized technical services, village chiefs, and representatives of the CVDs, aiming to choose two villages out of sixteen in the commune for the 2026-2027 wet campaign support project in the Yaadga region.

Following discussions, Boussou and Tamounouma were unanimously chosen to host 500 beneficiary households from the commune. These households will receive improved seeds and lean food supplies. Participants also advocated for extending the number of beneficiary villages to help preserve social cohesion, considering the security crisis impacting the commune.

The CRBF has committed to communicating this concern to the ICRC Sub-Delegation in Ouahigouya. The distribution of supplies is scheduled from May 18 to 22, 2026.
