Oshakati: Police in the Oshana Region have launched investigations into two separate suicide incidents that occurred at Oshakati and in the Onesi area on Saturday.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the first incident involved a 31-year-old man at the Onawa-Okandjengendi location in Oshakati. The deceased, identified as Joshua Hanyala Joseph, reportedly hanged himself around 09h00 on Saturday. The police indicated that no foul play is suspected, and his next of kin have been notified.

In a second, unrelated matter reported later that afternoon, 53-year-old Joseph Ndeshipanda died at Onandjandja village in the Onesi area. Authorities stated that Ndeshipanda allegedly hanged himself from a tree around 15h00. No foul play is suspected and the family of the deceased has been informed.

Police investigations into both deaths are ongoing.
