Tuy Province Invites Citizens to Honor Cultural Heritage in Daily Life

Tuy: The High Commissioner of Tuy Province, Issiaka Segda, has extended a call to the people of the region to celebrate cultural values in their daily lives during the Burkinabe Cultural Heritage Month, which runs from April 18 to May 18, 2025.

According to Burkina Information Agency, High Commissioner Segda urged the province's active forces to engage wholeheartedly in the month-long celebration dedicated to cultural heritage. He emphasized the importance of discovering, sharing, and celebrating shared heritage, encouraging individuals to do so either alone, with family, or in community groups. Segda highlighted the significance of visiting both well-known and lesser-known historical sites to integrate cultural values into everyday actions.

Speaking at the flag-raising ceremony at the provincial water and forestry department on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, Segda reiterated the theme of this year's celebration, "Cultural Heritage and Economic Development." He emphasized that traditions, beliefs, and creative expressions should serve as sources for development and the well-being of communities.

Paulin Bationo, the provincial director of water and forests in Tuy, expressed appreciation for the strong mobilization of active forces. He called for the support of individuals passionate about patriotism and ecological awareness to aid in the mission of safeguarding and managing the environment. The ceremony concluded with a symbolic tree planting, marking the commitment to both cultural and environmental preservation.
