Tuy/Koti Commune: Development Work Begins on Agricultural VDP Production Site in Djindjerma

Tuy/koti commune: Work to develop the production site of the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) engaged in agricultural production in the commune of Koti began on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, in the village of Djindjerma.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the site, spanning an area of 12.5 hectares, has been allocated to the municipality as part of the project. The initiative is aimed at bolstering agricultural production in the region. The site development marks a significant step in the project, as a clearing machine was brought in to uproot and remove stumps of trees and shrubs, officially commencing the activities on the ground.

There are 25 agricultural VDPs currently in Koti. This project is a component of the Presidential Initiative for the Agricultural Offensive, which is geared towards boosting agricultural productivity and contributing to the nation's goal of achieving food self-sufficiency. Further emphasizing the national scope of the initiative, 2,000 young people have been trained across the country as part of the first phase of the project.
