Hound©: The Hound© Education and Social Promotion Center (CEPS) celebrated the graduation of its 27th class in cutting and sewing on Saturday, comprising 28 young girls who are now prepared to enter the job market. The official ceremony was attended by local authorities, center partners, trainers, learners, and their parents.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the graduates completed three years of intensive training in sewing and cutting, culminating in a certificate of completion for each of the 28 learners. Ramatou Nacoulma, one of the new graduates, shared her satisfaction, detailing the skills acquired that will enable her and her peers to potentially open their own sewing workshops.
P©lagie Dabir©, head of the CEPS department, commended the significant progress made by the students, highlighting their newfound confidence and independence. She acknowledged the crucial support from the provincial director in charge of Humanitarian Action and the center’s partners, while appealing for continued assistance to address ongoing challenges.
Acha Coulibaly, the class’s sponsor, offered guidance to the graduates, emphasizing the importance of cultivating values such as discipline, rigor, integrity, and humility to strengthen society and advance the sewing profession.
The Provincial Director in charge of Humanitarian Action in Tuy, Brama Traor©, noted that the students often come from challenging backgrounds, including single mothers, victims of early or forced marriages, school dropouts, and internally displaced individuals. Traor© highlighted the ceremony as a platform to both promote the center and advocate for the socio-professional integration of women and young girls.
The event featured performances like sketches, ballets, and a fashion show displaying the learners’ creations. ATS company contributed to the occasion by donating 10 sewing machines to CEPS. The ceremony concluded with a visit to an exhibition of clothes crafted by the graduates.
