The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), in collaboration with the Tunisian Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy are organising training sessions on the “Kaizen” management approach, a Japanese concept that supports a culture of continuous learning, integration and innovation.
The sessions, which run until March 10, are being organised for 30 young Libyan entrepreneurs, JICA said in a statement.
The training workshops are co-financed by JICA and WFP and are led by experts from the Tunisian Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy.
As part of the training modules, participants will visit model companies in Tunisia that are applying the Kaizen approach and reaping the benefits in terms of improved productivity and quality.
The “Kaizen” concept offers a systematic approach to improvement that results in cost reduction, improved quality and productivity, and shorter delivery times, recalls JICA.
In 2006, Tunisia was the first country in Africa where JICA introduced the Kaizen approach.
