Tunisia-France: Tourism Minister meets SETO’s President

Means of promoting Tunisia as a destination in France were at the centre of a meeting, via video conference, on Thursday, between Minister of Tourism, Mohamed Moez Belhassine, and President of the French Tour-Operating Companies Union (SETO), René-Marc Chikli.

“Sales in Tunisia are experiencing an important upward trend during this period. It is likely that they will exceed, in 2023, the figures of 2019, a year during which 800 000 French people visited Tunisia”, underlined the French official, during this meeting in which participated SETO’s General Secretary, Jürgen Bachmann.

Tunisia continues to be an important destination for the French, he said, taking into account the solid relations binding the two countries, the geographical proximity, the reinforcement of the air links between the two countries’ airports and also the diversity and the richness of the Tunisian tourist offer, whether in summer or in winter.

For his part, Minister of Tourism, Mohamed Moez Belhassine pointed out the predisposition of the various tourist establishments to receive foreign tourists from different countries of the world, in particular the French, the first emitting market for Tunisian tourism, in Europe.

The minister has recalled, to this effect, that Tunisia has been classified, in 2022, as the fourth favourite tourist destination of French tourists.
