Tsumeb Municipality Enforces Removal of Illegal Outdoor Advertising

Tsumeb: The Tsumeb Municipality has issued a directive to businesses, institutions, organisations, and individuals, mandating the removal of any illegally displayed advertisements on council land or in public spaces by 14 February 2026.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Acting Chief Executive Officer Frans Enkali stated in a media release that all outdoor advertisements within the council's jurisdiction must comply with the Council's Advertising Policy. Enkali warned that any unlawful outdoor advertisement or signage remaining after the specified date would be removed by the Council, which will not be responsible for any damage or loss resulting from such actions.

Enkali detailed that prohibited advertising includes placements on street poles and traffic signs, trees and fences, road reserves and pavements, as well as public buildings and council property. He further emphasized that prior approval from the municipality is necessary for any public or business entity wishing to display advertisements.
