Trump Engages in Dialogue with Iranian Leaders Amid Rising Tensions

Washington: U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that he has engaged in conversations with Iranian leaders, with plans to continue the dialogue amidst escalating tensions between the two nations.

According to Namibia Press Agency, President Trump confirmed these discussions when questioned about recent interactions with Iran, although he did not reveal specific details about whom he had spoken with. He noted the presence of a formidable U.S. naval force near Iran, emphasizing the hope that military action would not be necessary.

The President outlined two main points communicated to Iran: a prohibition on nuclear weapons and a demand to cease the killing of protesters. Trump previously declared that a "massive armada," led by the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln, was en route to Iran, surpassing the naval force dispatched to Venezuela. He cautioned that the opportunity for Iran to negotiate with the U.S. was dwindling.
