Trump Claims Europe’s Energy Sector Collapsing Amid Transition to Renewables

Davos: US President Donald Trump declared, during a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, that Europe was going through an energy crisis, criticizing the European continent's policies in the field.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Trump stated that "the United States has managed to avoid the catastrophic collapse of the energy sector faced by all European countries" that have transitioned to renewable energy. He further claimed that "everywhere, wind turbines are destroying your land."

The White House occupant highlighted specific issues within European countries, noting that electricity production in Germany had decreased by 22% compared to 2017 figures, while prices had increased by 64%. Trump also remarked that the United Kingdom now produces only a third of the electricity it produced at the end of the last century.
