Tropical Bio Unveils Innovative Sugar Cane Juice at Ouagadougou International Crafts Fair.

Ouagadougou: One of the discoveries of the 17th edition of the Ouagadougou International Crafts Fair (SIAO) is the natural juice made from sugar cane, produced by the company Tropical Bio, based in the Hauts-Bassins region. “I make natural juices based on sugar cane. There is the simple juice based on sugar cane and the one based on sugar cane with lemon. The machine extracts the juice from the sugar cane, and we add lemon if you want,” explained Ms. Zongo, from the company Tropical Bio, on Saturday.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this juice that she sells in the Hauts-Bassins region was discovered and appreciated by many visitors during the second day of SIAO. “The young people like it, the children want to press the sugarcane themselves to mix. I have a small sugarcane field. We produce 1,200 bottles of juice per day, which requires 52 stalks,” she added.

In addition to juice, the Tropical Bio company also makes mango and moringa biscuits, as well as moringa-pineapple, moringa-lemon, banana and
ginger cocktails. The company Tropical Bio is exhibiting products from the Hauts-Bassins region, a region present at SIAO 2024, like other regions of the country, to highlight its cultural riches.

According to the director of Crafts in the Hauts-Bassins region, Mariam Ouédraogo/Traoré, the region presents agri-food products, shea butter and its derivatives, juices, sculptures and many other items. “We are here to support artisans in selling their products, but also to promote the Hauts-Bassins region,” she stressed.
