As part of unpacking and educating journalists on topical issues at the National Treasury, National Treasury will host a virtual media workshop on the recently published Zero Based Budgeting Framework document.
The document titled: A framework for achieving spending efficiency in a fiscally constrained environment seeks to enable government to improve the prioritisation of its spending, mainly towards key policy priorities and growth-enhancing programmes.
The workshop aims to provide more details on the objectives of the framework, as well as offering the media a chance to ask more in-depth questions around the framework, its role and responsibilities.
Senior officials from National Treasury will speak and respond to questions at the workshop. Information shared at the workshop is background information to assist journalist when writing stories in future.
If journalists will require interviews after the workshop, they are welcome to send questions or interview requests to Media@treasury.gov.za(link sends e-mail).
Details of the workshop are as follows:
Date: 22 June 2021
Platform: Microsoft Teams (virtual)
Time: 12:00-14:00
Again, please note that this is not an opportunity for interviews nor is it a media briefing.
Please indicate your attendance by sending your RSVP to Malehlohonolo Kasa on Malehlohonolo.kasa@treasury.gov.za(link sends e-mail) by 20 June 2021 so that the workshop link can be shared with you.
