L€š¬°RABA: A new transport company, Majestic Transport Maga (MTM) VIP, inaugurated a station in the rural commune of Niankorodougou, L©raba Province, with the aim of enhancing local transportation options. The opening ceremony, held on Saturday, was officiated by the High Commissioner of L©raba, Mahamadi Congo, and attended by local leaders and community members.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the initiative was driven by the need to address transportation challenges faced by the residents of Niankorodougou, a community located 30 kilometers from Sindou, the provincial capital. Alidou Maga, CEO of MTM VIP, highlighted the motivation behind the project during the opening, expressing hope that the new station would alleviate transport difficulties in the area. Maga also urged local authorities to repair the nearly impassable Niankorodougou-Sindou road segment.

High Commissioner Mahamadi Congo acknowledged the benefits that the transport company would bring to the region, particularly in terms of improved mobility. He encouraged local youth to support Maga’s venture and take inspiration from his entrepreneurial journey for their own future endeavors. The project has received promises of support from various local authorities, including the president of the special delegation of Niankorodougou, Nademb©ga Salif.

The seed for the transport company was planted during Maga’s visit to his parents in 2022, when he encountered transportation difficulties due to a lack of buses. This experience led him to purchase a 50-seater bus, which commenced operations on April 23, 2023. Maga, who previously worked as a taxi driver and operated a minibus for school transportation in Bobo, expanded his fleet to include four coaches, eventually leading to the establishment of the MTM VIP station with nine 50-seat coaches and the employment of 40 young individuals.

Local leaders, including the village chief of Niankorodougou, Yaya Ouattara, and 20 other village chiefs, attended the opening ceremony and pledged their support for Maga’s initiative, recognizing its potential to improve transportation infrastructure and services in the region.
