Trans Nzoia Governor Natembeya Advocates for Unity and Development

Kitale, Trans Nzoia - Governor George Natembeya of Trans Nzoia called on political leaders to collaborate for the development of the county. He highlighted the importance of peace and unity for progress and cautioned against the dangers of divisive politics. Speaking at an interdenominational prayer event at Kitale Show Ground, which was led by Bishop Henry Juma Odonya of the Catholic Diocese of Kitale, the Governor dismissed the time for political maneuvering and reached out to his 2022 rivals to work together for development.

According to Kenya News Agency, Governor Natembeya instructed county staff to guarantee fair resource distribution and emphasized non-discrimination on the basis of ethnicity, color, or religion. He announced that a cultural center is planned to celebrate and preserve the diverse cultures of the region. Additionally, Natembeya outlined government plans to increase funding for the Mbegu Initiative in the next fiscal year, aiming to boost agricultural productivity and food security. He also directed the Department of Social Services to enhance the facilities at Kwanza Rehabilitation Centre.

Among those present were Deputy Governor Philomenah Kapkory, Speaker of the Trans Nzoia County Assembly Obed Mwale, and several County Executive Committee Members, including County Secretary Truphosa Amere.
