Trans Nzoia – In an effort to improve transportation and accessibility within Trans Nzoia County, a rigorous road maintenance initiative is underway, marking a significant step towards infrastructure enhancement. The County Executive Committee Member for Roads, Mr. Jackson Amboka, confirmed the project’s progress during a recent inspection tour, emphasizing the county’s commitment to timely and quality roadwork.
According to Kenya News Agency, the project’s priority is to deliver enduring value to the taxpayers, underscoring the importance of completing the works promptly and to the highest standards. His message was reinforced by Engineer Rachel Wangoi, who accompanied him during the inspection. Eng. Wangoi highlighted the critical role of using standard, high-quality materials in road construction and maintenance to ensure longevity and durability of the infrastructure.
The county government has allocated Sh90 million towards this endeavor, aiming to refurbish and maintain approximately 800 kilometers of road across all 25 wards within Trans Nzoia. This substantial investment demonstrates the county’s proactive approach to improving its road network, which is vital for economic activities and everyday mobility of its residents.
The maintenance operation, which commenced a month ago, is set to significantly enhance road conditions, facilitating smoother and more reliable transportation for the county’s populace and contributing positively to the region’s overall development and accessibility.
