Training Session in Ziro Aims to Enhance School Security Through Safe School Approach

Ouagadougou: A training session launched to strengthen security in schools through the Safe School approach. The Provincial Directorate of Preschool, Primary and Non-Formal Education of Ziro organized, Tuesday in Sapouy, a training session for the benefit of educational supervisors of the province on the ‘Safe School’ approach. The objective of the session, according to the initiators, is to create a protective and resilient school environment in the face of security and humanitarian crises.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the opening ceremony was chaired by Toudassida Marcel Ilboudo, Inspector of Preschool Education, representing the Provincial Director of Preschool, Primary and Non-Formal Education of Ziro. Over the course of four days, participants from the province’s six municipalities will be equipped to define the Safe School approach, map the vulnerabilities of the local education system, develop preparedness and response plans, and conduct psychosocial support activities.



The purpose of the session is to strengthen local capacities so that schools remain safe, inclusive and conducive to learning, even in emergency situations. The training will continue until Friday, April 18, 2025, and should result in the creation of a pool of trainers capable of sharing the knowledge acquired in the various municipalities of Ziro.
