Train-Vehicle Collision in Onathinge Injures Four

ONATHINGE — A collision between a train and a vehicle on the Onathinge/Onayena main road resulted in injuries to four individuals on Friday night.



According to Namibia Press Agency, the region’s Crime Investigations Coordinator, the accident happened around 10:00 PM when a silver Amarok with an Oshakati registration, traveling from Onayena towards Onathinge, did not stop at a railway crossing and collided with an oncoming train. The impact of the collision resulted in injuries to all four occupants of the vehicle.



The injured include the driver’s 32-year-old wife, who sustained a knee injury, and a 27-year-old man who suffered head injuries. Two children, a four-year-old girl and a seven-year-old boy, were also hurt in the incident. All four were transported to the Onayena Health Centre and are reported to be in stable condition.



Ekandjo confirmed that none of the train’s occupants, including the 46-year-old driver and two passengers, sustained injuries. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident, and police investigations are ongoing.
