Tragic Fire in Mumbai Claims Lives of Seven, Including Children


MUMBAI—A devastating fire in Mumbai’s Chembur area resulted in the deaths of seven individuals, two of whom were children, early Sunday morning in Maharashtra, India.



According to Namibia Press Agency, a local police officer reported that the fire ignited in a two-storey building, which housed a shop on the ground floor and a residential unit above. The victims, all members of the same family, were asleep at the time the fire broke out, leading to fatal consequences.



The incident not only resulted in loss of life but also left several others injured, adding to the calamity experienced by the community in the southwestern state. Emergency response teams were quick to arrive at the scene, but the severity and timing of the fire led to the tragic outcome.
