Tragic Bee Swarm Incident in Kombissiri Claims a Young Man’s Life

Kombissiri: A swarm of bees caused the tragic death of a young man and injuries to others on Sunday afternoon in Kombissiri, Bazèga, in the Center-South region. The incident led to significant disruption of traffic on national road no. 5, the main route connecting Kombissiri and Ouagadougou.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the chaos began when a swarm of bees, reportedly disturbed by children digging under a tree, invaded the road near the village of Koupel-Yargo. According to a local fruit and vegetable seller, the bees aggressively attacked people traveling by vehicles and motorcycles around 3 p.m. A mini-bus heading for Po was particularly affected, with one of its two apprentices, approximately 20 years old, tragically losing his life in an attempt to escape the bees. Another individual, riding a motorcycle, was also attacked and later rushed to the Kombissiri medical center for treatment of bee stings. By 5 p.m., the situation had calmed down, allowing traffic to resume. The national police of Kombissiri responded to the scene to conduct an investigation.
