BANFORA—Efforts are in full swing to reopen the Trafila Bridge, a crucial conduit between Banfora and the Ivory Coast border, following extensive flood damage that disrupted traffic on the key route.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the regional road maintenance department of the Ministry of Infrastructure has deployed agents and technicians who have started repair work to restore traffic flow as quickly as possible. The disruption came after torrential rains on Sunday severely impacted National Road No. 7, a major artery linking Bobo-Banfora to the Ivory Coast.

The Ministry of Infrastructure had earlier announced the temporary closure of this vital route through a press release, stressing the immediate need to address the damages to ensure safe and continuous travel for commuters and goods transportation across the region. The current mobilization underscores the government’s commitment to rapidly mitigate the impact of natural disasters on critical infrastructure.
