Nayala: The Alumni Association of the Toma Mixed School (AAEEMT) organized a day of excellence on Friday at the Toma South school to reward the most deserving students of the 2025-2026 school year. The ceremony took place in the presence of the Secretary General of the Nayala province and the representative of the Minister of Basic Education, Literacy and Promotion of National Languages, sponsor of the event. According to Burkina Information Agency, during the ceremony, the top three students in each class received bags containing school kits. The top students in the Primary School Leaving Certificate (CEP), including the top girl and boy in the school, each received a bicycle. The headmaster of Toma Sud school, Bako Boureima, praised the students' performance. He indicated that the school presented 48 candidates for the CEP (Certificate of Primary Education) with a pass rate of 93.75%. He attributed these results to the work of the teachers, the support of the parents of students, and the determination of the learners. The representative of the AAEEMT, retired inspector Ky Djibril, recalled that the association, created in 2023, works to promote education and support schools. He reaffirmed the alumni's commitment to supporting their school in its pursuit of excellence. The provincial director of preschool, primary, and non-formal education for Nayala, Thomas Garané, paid tribute to Toma Sud School, founded in 1964 as "École du Commandant" before becoming École mixte de Toma and then Toma Sud. He congratulated the alumni for their contribution to promoting academic excellence. The Minister of Education, Victor Yaméogo, praised the AAEEMT's initiative, describing it as an example of solidarity and accountability to the school system. He encouraged the students to persevere in their studies to contribute to the development of Burkina Faso. The ceremony was also marked by cultural performances, blessings from traditional authorities, and the presentation of prizes to the various winners.
