Toma Secures Victory as Provincial Champion in 2025 Football Final

Nayala/OSCEP: Toma is the provincial champion of the 2025 edition. The Organization of Sport, Culture and Leisure in Primary Schools (OSCEP) organized the provincial final of the football match between Toma and Gossinan on Saturday under the theme “sport and culture, real factors of development and resilience of schoolchildren in the context of insecurity.”



According to Burkina Information Agency, after extra time, the Toma team won 1-0 against Gossina on the field opposite the Relwinde Plus maquis. Participating teams received rewards such as envelopes and sports equipment. The president of the organizing committee, Abdoulaye Garane, expressed his satisfaction with the success of the event. He also stressed the importance of sport and culture in the daily lives of students, especially in this context of insecurity.



The representative of the traditional chief, Remi Toe, opened the ceremony by thanking the provincial authorities for their support in organizing the day. The event’s sponsor, Father Jean Paulin Ki, also a research professor at the Catholic University of West Africa, praised the participants’ commitment and promised 10,000 francs to the first scorer of the game, 7,500 francs to the second scorer, and 5,000 francs to the third.



The Provincial Director of Preschool, Primary and Non-Formal Education, Thomas Garane, spoke of the courage of the organizers in the face of insecurity, highlighting the role of sport and culture as tools for education and social cohesion. As for the High Commissioner of the province, Honore Frederic Pare, he congratulated the young people for their talent and their competitive spirit, emphasizing the importance of culture and sport in the development of youth.



This final not only celebrated sport and culture, but also strengthened community ties and hope for a better future for the Nayala province.
