Ouagadougou: The High Commissioner of Nayala Province, Honor© Fr©d©ric Par©, officially launched the "Clean City of Toma" initiative on Saturday with a large-scale drainage ditch cleaning operation. This civic activity, which will continue every Saturday, aims to improve sanitation, prevent diseases related to unsanitary conditions, and promote collective responsibility throughout the province.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the launch of the "Toma clean city" initiative took place in front of the Toma Calvary in the presence of administrative and municipal authorities, representatives of the villages as well as the mobilization of the populations. The High Commissioner of Nayala Province, Comrade Honor© Fr©d©ric Par©, commended the civic-mindedness and sense of responsibility of the participants. He emphasized that this initiative will be extended to the entire province and urged heads of households, business owners, and all citizens to contribute, either through their work or by providing material or financial support.

The president of the Toma Special Delegation, Zakaria Sawadogo, expressed his satisfaction with the community's participation. He indicated that this operation will now continue every Saturday to firmly establish hygiene practices in the citizens' habits. According to him, the initiative is not limited to clearing gutters, but also includes cleaning neighborhoods and public spaces. He reminded residents that they have a responsibility to maintain the gutters in front of their properties and businesses to prevent flooding and its consequences.

The president of the CPAVC/Nayala, Yaya Par©, invited all villages in the province to regularly organize clean-up operations in public spaces during the rainy season. He emphasized the link between cleanliness, disease prevention, and the well-being of the population, while also urging everyone to avoid dumping garbage in gutters.

The High Commissioner kicked off the operation by going down into a gutter himself to make the first shovelfuls. The work continued until midday in an atmosphere of strong citizen engagement. Participants agreed to meet again the following Saturday, with the ambition of making "Toma Clean City" a sustainable movement serving a healthy living environment.
