Titao’s Special Delegation Distributes Solar Kits to Students Amid Power Challenges

Ouahigouya, Burkina Faso – In a significant move to support education, the vice-president of the special delegation of Titao, Oumarou Dialla, distributed 2,950 solar kits to primary and secondary students in Titao on Wednesday, November 15, 2023.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the initiative, led by Mr. Dialla, aims to address the lack of electricity in the region, which poses a significant challenge for students studying at home. The special delegation’s decision to provide solar kits is a response to this ongoing issue, facilitating better learning conditions for students in the absence of conventional power sources.

Abdoul Salam Sawadogo, representing primary education, expressed his delight at the donation, noting its potential to ease the burden on students who lack energy sources for studying at home. Yacouba Niampa, the site manager of the Loroum provincial high school, also expressed gratitude to the special delegation, highlighting the positive impact of the gesture on students’ study conditions.

Since April 2022, the power lines serving Titao have been sabotaged by unidentified armed groups, resulting in widespread power outages. The distribution of solar kits represents a vital step towards ensuring continued education in the face of these challenges.
