Ouagadougou: The community of Tinrtinga, in the commune of Guiba, celebrated on Saturday the best students as well as the actors of the village's public primary school, on the occasion of a day dedicated to academic excellence, placed under the theme: "All united for quality education".

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony brought together traditional and religious authorities, municipal authorities, as well as the sons and daughters of the village, who came to demonstrate their commitment to the promotion of education.

In his address, Singo Sawadogo, the headmaster of Tinrtinga Public Primary School, presented his school's performance. For the 2025-2026 academic year, the school had an enrollment of 205 students, including 108 girls. The school board reported a 98.53% promotion rate to the next grade.

At the Primary School Certificate (CEP), supervised by colleague Rihanatou Ou©draogo, all 41 candidates presented were admitted, representing a 100% success rate. They also all passed the entrance exam for sixth grade.

The headmaster did not, however, downplay the difficulties the school continues to face. He specifically mentioned the gradual decline in student numbers, repeated absences of some students during the school year, and the dilapidated state of the latrines.

According to him, these challenges require increased mobilization of all stakeholders in order to improve learning conditions and ensure that children remain in school.

The ceremony's patron, Tasser Zoungrana, urged parents to make education "a community priority," stating that "every lesson learned, every book read brings children closer to success." He expressed his conviction that with the commitment of families and the entire educational community, the school will continue to train citizens capable of contributing to local and national development.

The head of the Guiba Basic Education District (CEB), Joachim Compaor©, praised this initiative, which recognizes academic merit. He congratulated the teachers, students, and parents on the results achieved, noting that the Guiba CEB recorded a 98.90% pass rate on the 2026 CEP exam.

At the end of the ceremony, the five best students in each class received school supplies and various gifts from the parents. Those who passed the CEP exam were rewarded with new bicycles.

Comrade Ou©draogo also received a computer in recognition of her commitment and contribution to the school's excellent results.
